Diego Ceretta praised for his conducting of Verdi’s La battaglia di Legnano with Teatro Comunale di Bologna
Diego Ceretta

“At the podium, young Diego Ceretta (born in 1996) conducts the score with taste, varying the nuances as required, with the Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in excellent form. “This Battaglia provided another welcome confirmation of the twenty-eight-year-old conductor Diego Ceretta, who had already impressed at the Regio the previous year in a concert with the Trio di Parma and subsequently in Il barbiere di Siviglia. In this Verdi opera, too, Ceretta demonstrated a strong command of the score, leading the singers with confidence and eliciting a good response from the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna. It is easy to predict that we will be hearing more and more of this conductor.
